Date of Birth: August 12, 1960, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA

Nickname: Scooter (a former boss “assigned” the nickname)

Spouse: The lovely, intelligent and talented Stacy Morgan

His story began with a portable reel-to-reel recorder, a child’s record player and a head full of voices.  Wait… that doesn’t sound right, does it?  Let’s just say that he started imitating people and creating characters when he was a little boy.  There.  That’s better.

Years later (despite several frustrated teachers who struggled to shut him up), at the age of 16, Scott “Scooter” Fortney began his professional work in the voice-over business in local radio.  The first skill he learned was the art of voice acting - how to create pictures in the listener’s mind with his voice.

As Scooter honed his voice acting skills, he also worked hard to learn every studio production technique available.  Those production skills are clearly evident in every project he produces.  In 1992, before most people had even heard of it, he purchased one of the earliest pieces of software for digital production.

Highly skilled in voice acting, character voices, digital audio production and copywriting; in several of his radio jobs Scooter served as Director of Creative Services. For over thirty years, he has written, voiced and produced several award-winning ads.

Today, from his home studio, Scooter produces projects for a wide array of clients all over the world - from Television and Radio commercials to Audio Books, Videogames, iPod Apps, Stage Plays, Internet Narrations, Corporate Videos, PowerPoint Presentations and Telephone Systems.

Additionally, Scooter directs and produces demos for other voice-over talents around the world. If you are or wish to become a voice actor, and you need a demo, contact Scooter here.
